We recognized Ralph for his efforts helping us with the bb tournament.  After working all day at a Circle K service project, he came to help us clean up at Alex Box Stadium.  It was greatly appreciated!

The pot was lost by Carlos Ortiz, Amy Starnes and Carl Hancock.

Guest Speaker: Dr. John Pine, Director of Disaster Science and Management, Department of Environment Studies, The School of the Coast and Environment at LSU.

He has been involved in numerous research projects in recent years concerning the impact of major disasters on health and the community as well as bioterrorism planning & assessing community vulnerability to weapons of mass destruction. Dr. Pine brought a slide show of the effects of coastal erosion on a small bayou community.  He stated that the people living there are determined to continue their way of life despite the problems with the coast.  Some families are spending $15,000 to put support posts in the ground to prevent their houses from sinking.  He also showed a boat used as a school bus to bring students to school.
