Our
guests were Bob Buick, guest of Jodi Moscona, Ralph Johnson and Dorothy
Kemp from the LSU Circle K, and the speaker brought Dick Schneider, Director of

We recognized
Ralph for his efforts helping us with the bb tournament. After working all
day at a Circle K service project, he came to help us clean up at Alex Box
Stadium. It was greatly appreciated!
The pot was lost by Carlos Ortiz, Amy Starnes and Carl Hancock.
Guest Speaker: Dr.
John Pine, Director of
Disaster Science and Management, Department of Environment Studies, The School
of the Coast and Environment at LSU.
He
has been involved in numerous research projects in recent years concerning the
impact of major disasters on health and the community as well as bioterrorism
planning & assessing community vulnerability to weapons of mass
destruction. Dr. Pine brought a slide show of the effects of coastal erosion on
a small bayou community. He stated that the people living there are
determined to continue their way of life despite the problems with the coast.
Some families are spending $15,000 to put support posts in the ground to prevent
their houses from sinking. He also showed a boat used as a school bus to
bring students to school.

March 20 Baseball Tournament was a huge success.
