Guest Speaker: Claude Bethea, Relay for Life Event Chair

Claude spoke of this year’s Relay for Life, which will be held at LSU on the “Old Front Nine” of the golf course on Friday, May 14. All funds raised benefit the American Cancer Society. He was asked to chair the event due to his great success raising funds for the event in a smaller role. Claude said that this is a great family event, and kids really enjoy camping out all night for the cause. He said teams have much to enjoy, including the very informal relay and lots of food and people to meet around their “campsite”. Also, the all nighter is symbolic of cancer patients having a long tiring struggle, but with exciting daylight, or hope, at the end.
