Let's reverse the order: Winner of the Jackpot, again, was Preacher Rea! (Is it true that he was caught last month, waxing his card?) Or is it rank favoritism since President Jodi allows him to lead our weekly prayer? Or is it good fortune? Pardon the jealous outburst, Charles.

At any rate Charles Preacher Rea led us in prayer, preceded by Wayne Price, who led the Pledge, preceded by Dale Hodges, who led us in our weekly vocal tribute "America."

Now, back to the beginning - Jodi urged us to all enter the district Raffle, Brandt Edwards reported on his trip to the convention, and Jodi called on Jerry Boyce to introduce his guest, a prospective member named Jared Gary who will help reduce the average age of CCKers.

And then we heard from Dee Cothern, Director of our fifty-plus-year-old theater. As a youngster, Dee acted in Little Theater offerings, and has recently returned to elevate it once more to one of Baton Rouge's leading artistic organizations. She spoke of the updating of the wonderful Bon Marche/Carre Theater facility - the variety of comedy-tragedy-musical offerings for the season ahead - and made us wish she had offered season tickets! (She said that the Wizard of Oz will be performed in July.) Good, fine, swell program, Brandt.

Upcoming programs - higher education, some backward looks at our legislative session, Carlos Ortiz will introduce a charming lady to speak about another culture (no no - not Hispanic), and lots more. Also, volunteers wanted to help CW, Esteban, Steve LeBlanc, and Charlie Hair, as we struggle to keep your weekly bulletin up to the H.P. Walker standard, until he picks up his pen and takes back his special place, as Ye Ed.

P.S. Jodi wanted to remind us to please refrain from cell phone usage while the speaker is speaking.
