And we were launched into our meeting by Jodi's reminder of the purposes of Kiwanis, by Dale Hodges on-pitch leadership of our patriotic song, by Amy Starnes' leadership of the Pledge of Allegiance, and by Charles Rea's words of Prayer.

Several announcements followed: 1) Joe Culotta requested sign-up for 2 hr. shifts on Oct. 2 to aid the Book Bazaar. If you missed the sign-up sheet call Joe and sign-up by phone (O) 924-7424 (H) 925-2512. 2) Bill Scruggs is at OLOL with a heart problem. 3) Pick-up and fill out a "Club Assessment," to reflect your honest opinion of Capital City's performance. Sign or don't sign, but get back to Brandt soon. 4) A couple of other announcements, but by the time you read this, the events will have happened.

Guests were two Mikes, both from Catholic High's Key Club. Mike #1, Mike Rolfsen; Mike #2, _______, a nice guy, but my hearing aid battery missed out.

And that segued into our program featuring Jill Rigby, Executive Director of "Manners of the Heart (MOTH)," an organization working with Pre-K through 3rd grade boys and girls. Jill fascinated us with a description of "MOTH." It started here in Baton Rouge and now is present in 600 schools all over the U.S. Jill spoke of many things MOTH deals with - the difference between Self Esteem and Self Respect - how we adults are all educators, intentional or not, and a host of other related matters that made us all sorry when her half-hour was up. IN SPIR A TION AL!!

OMISSION ......... I did not speak of the Jackpot.

A Nobody collected for it

B No drawing was held

C No cards were produced

D I hope this is not a trend!

However . . . you can mention this grave omission on your ANNUAL CLUB ASSESSMENT.
