Seated at the head table were President Jodi Moscona, yours truly, and our guest speaker Chris Warner. Jodi selected Dale Hodges to lead the song, Ben Brown to lead the pledge, and Charlie Rea to say the prayer. Jerry Boyce introduced the guests who were Chase Duncan and Scott O'Rillion from CHS Key Club, and Ralph Johnson and Ann Zaloudek from the LSU Circle K Club.
Jodi called the club into business session for an election of officers. Ben Brown was elected Secretary, Jerry Boyce was elected Second Vice President, and Dee Cothern was elected to the Board of Directors.
Jodi announced that next week will be our last meeting at the Marriott and beginning the first meeting in October we'll meet at the Great Wall in Village Square on College Drive. Jodi also announced that next Tuesday at 12:50 U-High will have a Key Club meeting and we need to have an interclub to complete our year.
Jodi awarded Bill Stracener a "41" years of perfect attendance tab, and certificates of the Legion of Honor to yours truly for "25" years of membership and Charlie Rea for "35" years of membership. Jodi also announced that we have eight new members for this year which amounts to 9.8% growth of the club for the year which was a great year. Ralph Johnson of the LSU Circle K Club announced the K-Family Sports Day from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28 at Highland Road Park. All club members are invited to attend.
We are pleased to learn that Nataly Ortiz will be handling the Jackpot which had been handled by Bill Eason and Max Constantin in the past.
Jodi introduced our guest speaker, Chris Warner, a candidate for the Senate from District 16 currently served by Senator Jay Dardenne. Chris spoke about the history of LSU tailgating as well as his Senate campaign, pledging to serve only two (2) terms if elected.
In the jackpot were Nataly Ortiz, Rick Martin, and Jodi Moscona, whose winnings will be donated to the Methodist Children's Home in memory of Bill Eason.
Next week's guest speaker will Doug Moreau to tell us about LSU football.
