Vote to reduce the number on the board from 8 to four members not including the following officers.

Speaker points:

Ty McMains spoke on the Hurricane Katrina Recovery Efforts in the Metro Baton Rouge area.  Approximately $15 million was raised by the Baton Rouge Area foundation.  To date 3.7 million spent in grants to the service providers within the afflicted areas.  Impacted areas will need food, shelter, security, healthcare, and long term mental health treatments.  38 New Orleans schools wiped off the map.   Bankrupted the already fragile New Orleans Public School system.  Ready to go teachers needed in area shelters.  Several employment opportunities will be needed to jumpstart the area, agencies working to do so are the LA Dept. of Economic Development and Area Chambers of commerce.  BASF contributes to helping Ascension parish re build.  Web MD gave a $200,000.00 medical grant.  Bill Gates gave $750,000.00 unrestricted grant to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
