With the force of KRAKATOA:
The innovative and newsworthy Oct. 30 Bull. was coined by the erstwhile ad exec., Allan "C.W." Brent. "C.W.," Steve LeBlanc, and Estaban Herrera epitomize reliability and cleverness in composing many bulletins during Ye Ed's period of less-than-perfect eyesight. Thanks to This Terrific Trio. Also deserving of deep gratitude are Doc Rick Martin and his receptionist, Martha Grunewald, for adapting the Bull. to E-Mail and computerized form and for getting it to the printer on each Friday.
In a letter to Phil Jones, Beverly Cain asks for help to advance the "District Builders Club Leadership Conference - Leadership Development of Kiwanis Advisors of K-KIDS." Phil says that our own Board is being asked to contribute funds for this worthy goal. The formal name is "YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAM."
Our B.O.D. might consider the request during its next Meeting, which per Pres. Jodi will occur on Tuesday Nov. 12, 5:30 P.M. at the Lamar Bldg. Also, meetings of the Audubon Club have been shifted to Thursdays 6:15 P.M. at Mandarin Seafood, according to Caliph Jodi.
GOOD NEWS about our tried-and-true friend, Steve Henry, home from the hospital after a stay of three months. Max Constantin, who visited Steve recently, reported that Steverino is doing well. All of us look forward to seeing you at our meetings, Steve.
Nov. 6 guests were Ed Pointer (David Cresson), Max ? of Circle K (I ain't sure), and Max Constantin II (Max-The-Knife).
"A resounding success" describes last week's Pelican Point Golf Tournament held in commemoration of the tragic SIDS death of the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. David Cresson. David gave special thanks to our Ag. Committee for preparing the succulent Jambalaya and said that about 150 golfers participated. Of receipts totaling $20,000, David graciously said that $2,000 will be given to CCK for its help.
Jodi reminded one and all that Saturday, Nov. 9 our "Habitat for Humanity" project, overseered by Bob Schmidt, takes place. He also invited attention to the Monday, Nov. 18 JAMBALAYA SALE at Nelson Memorial at L.S.U. Last year our Ag. committee guys and CCK helpers sold about 500 dinners! Every club member is asked to sell at least 10 tickets for $5 each, available from Jodi Moscona. We also need help at the event from 11:00-2:00.
Jerry Boyce introduced our speaker, L.S.U. Basketball Coach John Brady, who outlined Basketball facts in a humor-laced fashion.
John is in his sixth-year at L.S.U., and his success is impressive. He captured our attention by keen athletic recitations and an unquenchable supply of good boisterous fun. His talk was enjoyed by everyone present. By the way, Coach Brady's watchword is: "avoid arrogance."
A J.P. of 85 BUCKS was won by bet-on-anything gambler, Charles W. Rea, following failures of Rick Martin and Dick Luedtke.
Our Nov. 13 speaker will be Lee Brecheen of La. Sports Enterprises. Jerry Boyce, peering into the future, has arranged for us to hear - on December 11 - Ginger Miller, B.R. Regional Eye Bank.
Oh, yes, if Bulletin info. pertaining to you needs amendment, let Doc Martin know ASAP. Also check the web for more CCK info (www.kiwanis.org/club/cck).

P.S. Send your photos to Rick Martin for the directory!
